Travelers are becoming more wary of flying, according to trade group the US Travel Association.
It comes on the back of a spate of safety issues at airports and in the air in recent months.
“It is leading some travelers to say, ‘I would travel more if we could fix the air travel experience” said Geoff Freeman, USTA President.
“This system is getting a bit overwhelmed because of the demand for travel.”
Freeman said the FAA and aviation infrastructure is in ‘dire need of investment in technology and people.’
Starting late last year with Southwest Airlines’ scheduling meltdown, there have been several near misses at airports.
Still, demand remains high due to the busy spring break season.
The FAA says there are almost 50,000 flights scheduled on some peak days.
